Cheers!

Evening all! I hope you've had a good week! I re-claimed my craft room last night after it became a storage room while we decorated our bedroom! It's all lovely and finished now so I have my little space back and I made this card. It's for my Brother-in-laws birthday next month. There's a few steps to how I made the beer glass so I'll explain - if you're interested! ;-) I started with some Crushed Curry card stock and matching ink which I smooshed onto my craft sheet. I then mixed in some white embossing paste to make it a paler version of the card stock colour. I used the Falling Snow stencil and the now yellow embossing paste to make beer bubbles in the glass. When that was dry, I cut it to size, inked the edges with more Crushed Curry ink and then gave it a few spritzes of Colour Shine Gold spray. The Cheers was cut out 5 times, glued together in a stack and covered with Wink of Stellar in gold. I'm going to enter this into this weeks CASology challenge of Wet and also this months Virginia's View challenge of Stencils. I hope you like it, thanks for looking!

Good morning! Well that was a slightly longer break than I intended! It was the ol' mojo disappearing after a holiday (which was lovely by the way!) But I forced myself to sit down and just make something. It might have something to do with the Copics course I went on on Sunday with Wendy at Stamps & Memories, it was lovely! And I learnt some new techniques which hopefully I'll be trying out soon!

Penny Black Saturday #155!

Afternoon all! Just a quickie post for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge, a couple of weeks ago we had cards for the Girlies, now it's time to make A Card for the Guys! With Fathers Day coming up hopefully it'll come in handy or it can just be for any male! There's a really cute stamp to be won too!
Here's my card, I thought I'd get a bit inky and try making a background with distress inks. Liz gave me some tips but I didn't have any watercolour paper and was too impatient to wait until I could get some so here's the result with normal copy paper, I'm quite pleased but I need more practice! The stars are stamped and embossed on. The music notes paper is also a stamp, and this is the first time I've tried the ribbon scrunching but I like it!

(The last Friday the 13th I got a parking ticket - hmm, this may be a superstition I'll start to believe!) Penny Black Saturday #149!

Hiya!! Sorry about the delay again, our internet connection is doing my head in, there one minute, gone the next! Arrgghh!! And...breathe...!
Wow! What a day yesterday was, I didn't move my bum off the couch all day - the Royal Wedding was amazing, so beautiful! I loved all the 'Pomp and Pageantry' as it's called but my favourite bits were those sweet little moments like his sideways glances at her and that fabulous Aston Martin at the end! I loved it all!!

Penny Black Saturday #139!

Good afternoon! Another week has been and flown by and it's time again for another Penny Black Saturday challenge! This week we'd like you to make a card for those tricky people in our lives...yep, a Men's Card! And 2 of our lovely teamies (past & present respectively) are putting up the prizes for this week - Carole & Pauline - have a look on the blog to see the gorgeous stamps up for grabs.
Here's my card using a previously stamped out image - onto watercolour paper - wow that stuff does not like my Copics, it almost drank them dry! But I really wanted to use this image - it reminded me of a dad trying to get a bit of peace then his little'un having other ideas, so I made it a Fathers Day card! I've used some of the gorgeous new MME papers and minimal embellishments.
