Belated Happy Fathers Day!

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend and had a lovely Fathers Day! I thought I'd show you the card I made for my Dad as it's for a couple of challenges too. I love the vintage map print paper and thought it went quite well with this wood veneer plane. The border edge is made with the waste side of a scallop die, and the banner is a Simon Says Stamp die but I snipped off one of the ends into a point. I then curved a WPlus9 sentiment to fit on it. I hope you like it, thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave - I'm so grateful! :-)

Happy Bee Day!

Hi again! I'm back with a card I've made for a couple of challenges including this weeks Case Study challenge from Lisa Spangler. It's so lovely! I decided to case the layout, textured background annd the hexagon element. I layered the wings using some vellum which curled when I put the glitter on - I love it! Looks very 'wingy'! I hope you like it, thanks for visiting!

A bit of Nautical!

Hello! I'm back again with a card I've just made. I've made a few recently but haven't got round to sharing them on time - plus a couple of duds I'm not willing to share! ;-) So I'm popping this up while I think of it. I love the nautical theme doing the rounds and the moment so I made one in the theme. I've used this weeks Freshly Made sketch but it looked too red with the sentiment in the bottom corner so I shifted it to the top - I hope that's ok! I also made it using Nicole's Papertrey Make it Monday tutorial - I definitely didn't make it seem as easy as she did (this was my 3rd attempt!) but I liked the waves card she made so this is inspired by that too. Thanks for looking, I hope you're well!

Tea & bunting!

Hiya! I hope you're well and enjoying this beautiful weather we're having in the UK at the moment! I'm back with a very British looking card - it wasn't until after I'd finished that I really realised it was red, white and blue! I've used the 'Fusion' sketch & photo combo for my inspiration. At first I just had the idea for bunting and the sentiment but it looked a bit bland so I stamped the teapot & cups border several times with VersaMark ink, so it's quite muted, then I stamped, coloured and cut out one of each to bring them forward a bit. I hope you like it, thanks for popping by!

2 for 1!

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend! I'm back today with a couple of cards to show you, I meant to post one yesterday and do seperate posts but I went out for a pub lunch instead - I'm sure you'll forgive me! ;-)
The first is for my dad's 60th birthday which is tomorrow - he's so excited! I embossed the numbers with clear embossing powder to give them a bit of pop, and did the same to the little stars.

Challenges;

And the second is just for the fun of it. Every card this month on the Case Study blog from Maile has sparked off some creative idea - how does she do that?! I decided as I don't have those beautiful feather wood veneers, to use up some of these wooden flowers I have. I inked the edges and added enamel dots to the centres. I hope you like them, thanks for visiting!

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge!

Hiya! As promised I'm back with my card for this months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! As soon as I saw all the gorgeous Bouquet builder colour combos, I knew I had to join in. I would have made a card for each of them as they're so beautiful but I was limited by my ink colours (and pesky time!) I went for this beautiful pink bouquet though and I have to say, its not often that I think this, but I'm really happy with it!
I used a few different stamp & die sets; Rosie Posie, Sweet Life, Harvest Berries & Sending You. I don't own any of the PTI inks though so I used a few Stampin' Up ones; Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron & Old Olive, plus Opera Pink from Versacolor.
I hope you like it, thanks for visiting and I hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Sunglasses ready?

No, not for any actual sunshine, (chance would be a fine thing!) just for this card! I really wanted to use this sentiment stamp for the current Seize the Birthday sketch but thought it might look a bit plain, until I thought to combine it with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge of stamping on pattern paper! I wanted to make it really stand away from the pattern so I embossed it with some glossy black embossing powder. The result isn't quite as simple as I thought but at least it's clean ;-) Thanks for stopping by, Have a lovely day!
