Penny Black Saturday #152!

Good morning! Yey – it’s the weekend!! I’m scheduling this as I’m in Bath on a Hen weekend, probably with a massive hangover at this point!! I’m glad they invented scheduled posting as there’s no way I’d make it otherwise! But I’m here now for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge! I loved seeing all last weeks Clean & Simple cards, but we couldn’t leave the other side of card making fans out, this week we’d like to see Fussy & Fancy! It was quite refreshing making this card, feeling like I could keep adding stuff and it wouldn’t matter, I’m not usually a fan of full on fuss but it was a nice change! Pauline is sponsoring this month, she's bravely giving up a gorgeous stamp for one lucky entry!
As soon as I saw this sketch I knew it's what I'd use as there's lots of room for frilly bits and embellishments! Also, the colours match each other a little better in real life!
Here's the challenges I'm entering this into -
Sketch and Stash Challenge - this sketch (new stash is this paper and the little glittery flowers have been very neglected - so much so, the sticky on the backs had dried up!)
Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle & Shine
PaperPlay - Sparkle Galore
Paper Sundaes - Birthday
Sir Stampalot Challenge - Magical Worlds
Spoonful of Sugar - Anything Goes
Thanks for looking, have a great weekend!
Supplies-
Image - Penny Black 'Mimi in Paris'
Colouring - Copics & Stickles
Papers - Kaiser Craft 'Lilac Avenue' & Pink Petticoat
Ribbon, flowers & gems - stash
Sentiment - made on the PC & a Kars Label punch
Borders - Fiskars 'Sunburst' punch

Hello! This is just a quickie to show you a little card I've made for a challenge blog that I've recently stumbled across (I'm a bit slow - they're up to number 47!!). I love these stamps and I love the styles of cards you can (and the Design Teams) make with them, I've had enough of drooling over them so I snapped some up for myself! I hope you like it!
Here it is and here's the challenges -

Stamp with Fun - Pink & Green
Creative Inspirations - Pearls & Lace
Spoonful of Sugar - Anything Goes

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #57 & a DT call!

Good morning! Did you spot the title...? Truly Scrumptious is back!! Yey! Michele has very kindly offered to keep running the blog while Sharon has a blogging break. Unfortunately though, a couple of the DT have decided to step down which leaves us a little short, so...there's a Design Team Call on!! Just link up your entry on the blog and add DT after your name if you'd like to join us! To get us back into the swing of things there's a nice easy theme - Anything Goes! There's 4 digi images from Pink Gem Designs to be won too!
Here's my card, it's a little different to my usual, partly because it's huge! Well, A5! I thought it could work as one of those cards that gets passed around an office for everyone to sign! The text panel idea came from when I saw this sketch, I've had this stamp a little while (and a Christmas version) but it hasn't seen ink until now! I hope you like it, it's for these challenges -
Sweet Stop Sketch - this sketch
Ribbon Girl - Pink & Lilac
PaperPlay - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Anything Goes

Penny Black Saturday #146!

Hello!! Long time, no speak! I didn't really intend to have a blogging break! Thanks for my DTs for baring with me! In a nutshell, I had a great time skiing, then moved house 12 days after we got back. I thought I'd get a bit of crafting in but I don't know who I was kidding! We've moved in with my in-laws for a couple of months until the house we're buying is ready so I've had to pack lots of my craft stash into storage but I've kept the bare essentials (still a few boxes though!) and to top it all off I've had food poisoning! Busy few weeks! But I'm back now with my DT card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge! This weeks theme is Say it with Flowers and there's a $20 voucher to be won for 1-2-3 Stitch!
I thought I'd go easy on the ol' mojo and make quite a simple card using some bright new papers! I hope you like it!
This is also for the following challenges -
Clean & Simple - this sketch
Papertake - Anything Goes
Spoonful of Sugar - Texture
PaperPlay - Critters Galore

Penny Black Saturday #140!

Good morning! It's already the weekend again! And therefore time for another Penny Black Saturday challenge - this week the challenge is Pearls and Lace, ooh classy!! And there's 2 prizes again, courtesy of Fantastic Ribbons and PB Stamps!
Here's my card, I wanted to make is quite girly and spring like, and I thought these papers would do the job! I didn't follow the sketch exactly as I thought the flowers on the papers looked too nice to cover up with other flowers, and then the sentiment wouldn't really fit where it should have done so I popped it below!

Penny Black Saturday #135!

Good morning all! I hope you've had a great week! I thought this week was dragging but now it's the weekend again, it feels like it's flown by! It's Saturday which means time again for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge! This week we'd like to see you January Sales bargains! Or if, like me, you didn't snab any, just show us your most recent stash! This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Fantastic Ribbons with 4 beautiful rolls of ribbons up for grabs!
Here's my card - I saw tutorial by Paula Pascual in Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine and had to try it! I've been looking at everyone's Distress Ink water colouring tutorials and fancied a go, then when I saw the backgrounds that could be made, I decided to get myself a few! (And they were on eBay so actually quite a bargain after all!) She used a beautiful Hero Arts stamp (which I bought too!) so I adapted it to use for this challenge. I stamped and embossed in white then swirled around with the blending tool and a few inks (colours below), and added a few glitter highlights. I thought it only fair to use one of Paula's sentiment stamps! The shape it's stamped onto is also a newbie, it's a Kars punch with 4 different label shapes. The shapes are all a bit smaller than I thought but I love this one anyway! I made 2 copies of this image in case one went wrong which meant there were a few leftover bits so I made another card, I'll save that for another day. I have to say, I'm pretty chuffed! Although don't look too closely - you may see some inky finger splodges!
This card is also for this weeks Spoonful of Sugar which is Blue & Green and Top Tip Tuesday which is to use a Sentiment.
Cripes, I've rambled a bit - thanks for looking!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #47!

Hello! I hope you're all well! I've been a busy little bee while all this snow has been around and finally finished all my Christmas cards, I did some batch making over the weekend so I'll show you them another time (if I remember!) But it's time for another Truly Scrumptious sketch, the last of 2010 with the optional extra of 'Frame it'! Basically give your image a fancy frame! I really wanted to use this cute image for my mum and dads card as it's a little bit like Poppy was as a kitten (even now as a big fat mog she tries to climb up the inside branches of the tree!) and I wanted to make some kind of haphazard frame. I couldn't find any bauble or light images small enough so I decided to draw them! Hopefully it's not too obvious! I've covered them with glossy accents to make them seem more realistic. I've also used the tutorial Dena posted on her blog about glittering over the image, I used my VersaMark pen to glitter emboss over the baubles and star on the image and I also did it over the sentiment, it's such a lovely effect, thanks Dena!
This is also for the following challenges: Mo's Digi Challenge - Glitz and Glimmer, Spoonful of Sugar - A Christmas Card, Cat's Corner - also a Christmas Card, Top Tip Tuesday - use Ribbon and ABC Christmas Challenge - Yuletide (I've used the Red and Green choice and the Holly and Berries). Thanks for looking!

And for one lucky entry there's a 15% lifetime discount voucher from PB Stamps.
I have just about managed to include zig zags and triangles on this card but only if you count the trees as triangles! I am also entering this card into this weeks Stamp Something challenge which is Stamp Something Pink in honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I've put away the Copics and broken out the embossing powders with both of my cards this week, a rarity as I get into a bit of a mess with them normally! Lol! I hope you like it!
