A Purple Christmas!

Hello again! I'm back today with a Christmas card I made on sunday night when I couldn't sleep, no big surprise as I dozed all day!! I'm getting really rubbish photos at the moment, not sure why, I think I need some daylight lamps, can anyone suggest any good ones? You'd think we'd have some decent natural light in July - nope!! Anyway, not sure it shows but I've put the 3 baubles on 1, 2 and 3mm foam pads to give them different heights. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #82 - the last one!!

Morning peeps! Cripes, how is it wednesday already?! Love it though! I'm back today with another Truly Scrumptious challenge, and, as the title suggests, it's our very last one! :-( Thanks so much to Michele for running it for us and to everyone who has entered in the last 3 and a half years! The last theme then is Flower Power! And there's a $20 voucher to spend with Simon Says Stamp to be won!
Here's my card, still loving all the red, white and blue! I hope it'll stick around for a bit! I went a bit jazzy with this card and I quite like it! It's a bigger card than I normally make, I think it's 5x7. I hope you like it, and I hope you can join in for our last challenge!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #204!

Afternoon! And a Happy Diamond Jubilee Weekend to you all! I hope you're enjoying whatever is going on around you!
I'm back a little late with my card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge. It's the first of the month and therefore it's a CASE it challenge. June sees the turn of Kath and she's chosen this beautiful card for us to take inspiration from.

There's 2 fab prizes to be picked up this week, a sweet sentiment stamp from Penny Black and a gorgeous lilac ribbon bundle from The Ribbon Girl.
Here's my card inspired by Kaths, I chose to CASE most of her card! I just changed the layout around a bit and made the coral colour a bit more prominent. This is the first time I've stamped an image like this, I really admire the was Kath uses inking and distressing techniques but I'm known for being a bit clumsy so clean and simple is usually a bit safer form me! I stamped the flowers in a coral ink and clear embossed it, then sponged over 'Old Paper' and 'Frayed Burlap' Distress Inks, then stamped the script image over the top, again in 'Frayed Burlap'. I little wipe over the embossing and I'm done! I hope you like it!

Challenges;

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #202!

Afternoon all! Happy Saturday! That means there's a brand new challenge over on the Penny Black Saturday blog! This weeks theme is to Recycle, this could mean anything from using bits of packaging or string to those little ribbon loops on tops the poke out all the time - so annoying! There's a lovely prize this week, a yummy bundle of gems, pearls, flowers & ribbon, all from the ladies on the Penny Black Saturday team! I've made a super-duper simple card this week, it's all my little head could cope with! I've used the backing card from the packaging of an embossing folder.
I saved it before I knew what this weeks challenge was! I've also Upcycled some white ribbon by colouring it with the pens I used on the image - double whammy! Thanks for dropping by, I'll be back on Monday unless by some miracle I can squeeze in another challenge card! Have a great weekend!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #199!

Hmm, slightly misleading title as it's no longer Saturday, but here's my card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge. This weeks theme is May Day! We'd love to see your Spring style cards! We are sponsored once again by the lovely people at Fantastic Ribbons! There's 4 rolls of spankly ribbon to be won!
I had a lack of mojo when I was trying to make my card - nothing was happening! Hence my lateness! So I sat down today, got out some of my favourite and treasured papers, my sewing machine and some lovely dies and came up with this! Not specifically spring like I suppose but it's better than nothing! ;-) I hope you like it!

How cute is this little button die?!

A-May-Zing CD Launch! Sneak Peeks Day 1!

Afternoon! I hope you've all had a good weekend! You may have seen on the other Crafters Companion DT that there is a new launch coming up in collaboration with the lovely Mr Nigel May from Create & Craft fame! He's designed a new craft CD called All Kinds of Everything and it is soo good! It's packed full of gorgeous things but I do have to say the papers are my favourite, they're fabulous - but then I do love a good patterned paper! I've been working on a little project using the CD and I'm going to show you a little bit of it everyday until the launch on Thursday 19th April at 9pm.

To make it a bit more exciting, any comments you may wish to leave me will enter you into a draw to win a signed photo of Nigel! I'll announce a winner from all the comments on my A-May-Zing posts left before Weds 18th at 9pm, on my last Sneak Peek post on Thursday morning, if that makes sense! There's also a chance to win the CD itself over on the CC Blog!
Here's the first few cards I've made. Basically it's a little set of 12 cards that can be given as a gift. I wanted them to be fairly clean & simple to show this CD can be for beginners as well - I've sure my DT buds will show you how to step it up a notch! I also needed the cards to be quite flat, you'll see why on Thursday! Every card has a matching envelope and insert, all from the CD.
I'm posting 3 cards everyday and I'll try and group them, today's cards could all be for the guys! Here they are!

This ones using one of the toppers and tags from the Card Companions section, backing paper from the CD with some die cuts and a bit of doodling.
I'm entering this into Our Creative Corner - Boys and their Toys

This is using one of the embellishments from the CD, it's meant to look like a big shiny epoxy shape so I double embossed it with clear embossing powder to emphasise that and added a die cut frame. Again, papers from the CD, more doodling and a few gems.
This one I'm entering for Secret Crafter - Mens Cards
Lastly a Valentines card, I've tried to include all occasions in this set so whoever received it would be prepared for anything! The shaped patterned paper is from the shaped cards section, I just cut mine out and adhered it to some glitter paper, added a framed sentiment from the sentiments section, a few gems, strip of ribbon and I'm done! This one is for Paper Sundaes - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking today, I'll be back tomorrow with another 3 cards! Have a great evening!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #197!

Good morning! What a grey day! Oh well, lots to do indoors today then a 50's party tonight!! Should be fun!
I'm back today though with the details of this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge, this week is Spots & Stripes! And there's a $20 voucher to be won from 1-2-3 Stitch for a lucky random entry.
Here's my card - more stash using up as I've had this pad for a while, it came free with a magazine and hasn't been touched til now. The backing paper is stripey with patterns between, I'm not sure if it shows but there's some cute little bunting! But I thought it would be good as a mens card so I've kept the flowery-bling-ness to a minimum! Have a lovely saturday, thanks for popping over!

Paintbox Poppets Sneaky Peaks! Day 1!

Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! The weather here was so weird, bright sunshine, rain then a blizzard for 2 hours!! Good excuse to saty cozied up in my comfies making cards! One of which I can show you now!

It's a very exciting week this week, all of the Crafters Companion Design Team will be giving you sneaky peaks at their lovely cards everyday leading up to the launch on Friday 9th March on Create & Craft of the new Paintbox Poppets CD Rom, decoupage & stamps! They're really cute! The CD is packed with loads of different images, all different sizes, some pre-matted, some decoupage! Loads!

Plus, to make it that extra bit special, every comment left on any of our sneaky peak posts will be entered into a draw to win a copy of the CD, not just one though, each DT blog will be giving one away! Winners will be announced on Friday morning at 10am! Everytime you leave a comment is one entry so if you comment everyday, that's 5 chances to win!

Here's my card for today. I've decided to make a simple mens card using the new mix and match sentiment stamps, one of the new images and papers from the CD, all the links are below this post. I'll add the links for the unreleased bits when they come out.
