Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

Hi again! What a drizzly bank holiday we're having! Hopefully this card brightens you up a bit. It definitely makes me happy; pink, gold, polka dots, glitter, ooooh! ;-) It's inspired by this months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

I've had this gold glitter embossing paste for a little while so when I saw the photo, I embossed a panel with a polka dot stencil and left it to dry. Then this morning I made it up into this card. I think I'll do that more, I get put off using pastes because of the drying time. It looks kind of gaudy in the photos but its lovely in real life :-)
I'm also entering this into the current Seize the Birthday anything goes challenge, this weeks CASe this Sketch and AAA Cards challenge of stencils. This is also using techniques from the Stencilled Online Card Class (see, told you it would take me ages!! Haha!) Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Stencilled #1

Hello! I hope you've had a good weekend! Not sure if you've seen but there's a sale on at Online Card Classes. I love these classes but never have a solid chunk of time to take part in them so don't want to spend the money. However, as they're now both finished and cheaper, I thought I would take the Stencilled class in my own time. I've got quite a few stencils but need a jump start to use them. Here is my first card using Debby Hughes' sponging technique & card idea. I've made it in my fave colour scheme; coral & gold, for the following challenges - Avery Elle - Die cuts, Addicted to CAS - Celebrate, Less is More - Anything Goes & Simon Says Stamp - Embossing. I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card but I've stamped Happy Birthday and a little cupcake to go with the sentiment. I hope you like it, I'll hopefully be back with tomorrow with another card.

Supplies;
Stencil - That Special Touch 'Large Polka Dots'
Inks - Distress Inks 'Tattered Rose', 'Dried Marigold' & 'Worn Lipstick'
Sentiment - Avery Elle 'Cake & Candles'
Candle - Papertrey Ink 'Wishes Come True'
Dies - Papertrey Ink 'Fillable Frames #1' & 'Wishes Come True'
Other - gold embossing powder, gems & vellum

Gell Well card and Part 2 of 2 Bodge Ups!

Hiya! Well I haven't got very far with the Stamp-a-faire projects - too much rarely seen sun about today! There's always next year! So I thought I'd show some more cards I've made with the online card class. The first one is his cute Get Well card and it was for a lesson on ways to use border stamps. I made my own version of a card Jennifer McGuire made changing one or two elements, and also using rings cut with Nesties to make my rainbow.

Next up was a card I thought would look amazing - until I ruined it! Hehe! It was for the alphabet stamps class. All of the elements I used are things I love but some how I gave it the 'clumsy Beth' touch! Here it is! Arrgghh!! ;-)

What a nincompoop! :-)
Here it is again without my scribblings!

Thanks for stopping in, I hope you've had a lovely sunday!

Collage Butterflies!

Hello! I'm not sure if I've mentioned on here but I signed up for the Stretch your Stamps Online Card class. It started on Monday and I'm really enjoying it! I haven't made a card for Day 1 yet as there's some supplies I *need* to get! ;-) But here's my card for Day 2. We were looking at Collage stamps and I used the techniques demonstrated by Shari where she layered first the butterflies with white embossing powder, then Distress Inks, then the collage stamp and 2 different metallic embossing powders. I think it says a lot about me that I only had sparkly embossing powders! So I used a clear one with a subtle silver glint and a more full on glittery silver. It gives a bit of a muted, patchy - in a good way - look. I have to say I'm really chuffed with it! I took some inspiration from Ambers card too but cutting up my butterfly stamps and also with the sentiment, I kept the layout a bit more 'me' and simplified it, and added some twine to tie in the kraft card base. It's a pretty picture heavy post but I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Challenges;
Dynamic Duos - these colours -->
Cute Card Thursday - Gardeners World

Supplies; **ETA Argghh! Sorry to Aud and Caroline! I just read 2 lovely comments from you then accidentally deleted them instead of published! :-( So sorry! But thank you for your comments! :-)**
