Happy Birthday Dad!

Hi! It's not actually his birthday til the beginning of June but I'll have a newborn by then and I'm not really sure how much downtime (if any) I'll get! I've made a shaker card using this weeks My Favourite Things sketch. I'm also going to enter into this weeks Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge and the 3 little circle/letter elements on the sketch count towards the Three Thirds theme on CAS-ual Fridays too. I thought these little letters would look fab in cork in the circle elements. I used the Scattered Stars die to make all the little stars for the shaker window, not too sparkly for a male card :-) Thanks for looking, I hope you like it!

Belated Happy Fathers Day!

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend and had a lovely Fathers Day! I thought I'd show you the card I made for my Dad as it's for a couple of challenges too. I love the vintage map print paper and thought it went quite well with this wood veneer plane. The border edge is made with the waste side of a scallop die, and the banner is a Simon Says Stamp die but I snipped off one of the ends into a point. I then curved a WPlus9 sentiment to fit on it. No, not for any actual sunshine, (chance would be a fine thing!) just for this card! I really wanted to use this sentiment stamp for the current Seize the Birthday sketch but thought it might look a bit plain, until I thought to combine it with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge of stamping on pattern paper! I wanted to make it really stand away from the pattern so I embossed it with some glossy black embossing powder. The result isn't quite as simple as I thought but at least it's clean ;-) Thanks for stopping by, Have a lovely day!

40th Fireworks!

Hiya! I hope you're enjoying your Sunday! I've been crafting up a storm! Not all card making but just tinkering about with some new techniques. I went to the Make It Show in Farnborough on Friday and I always come back all inspired so I thought I would strike while the iron is hot and have a play!
I did make this card using one of the stamps I bought though. My mum was buying me a birds stamp from this range for my birthday (which I'm supposed to forget about but I'm really excited to use!) when I saw this fireworks stamp on a card on the display stand, I had to have it! I've gone a bit crazy with the embossing powder! Its quite busy but as the layout is so simple I'm entering into a few CAS challenges, feel free to discount this entry if it isn't CAS enough. I hope you like it though and thanks for looking! Oh, and this card is for my brother-in-laws birthday in May - organised huh?!

Hiya! I hope you're having a suitably relaxing Sunday! I was up at 7 to take Jamie to get his car so I've been back to bed for a while, hee hee! I thought I'd get going with his Valentines card and here's what I came up with! Not sure if its too girly with the pink letters & glitter though so I may make another! Hiya! I hope you're all having a lovely day! We've been very productive, card making and gardening respectively, then a lovely big bowl of French Onion soup and a glass of wine - bliss!
Here's one of the cards I've made, its for Jamie's mums birthday on Tuesday. We've got her an afternoon tea as a gift so I wanted her card to match. I've had this stamp for ages and ages and I've not sure why I haven't used it, as it goes with most of my stash!! I also gave the sewing machine another airing, I think my stitches are getting straighter...no...?! ;-)

Way to Go!

Hiya! I hope you're all having a good week and haven't been caught up in too much snow! We got about 2 inches on Monday morning but it was gone by lunchtime and that was all - fine by me!
I've just popped in to show a quick card I made yesterday. I got some of the Embossing Diffusers and my first thought was they'd be great for one layer cards. As this weeks LIM challenge is one layer week I had to try it! That's when the problem hit - this is the only sport or exercise related image I own! And I live with sports loving man!! I've had this little stamp for years though so I'm glad I've found a use for it! I coloured it with a white gel pen then went back over any mistakes with a black fine liner. I then used the same white pen to give some borders, it looked a bit lost without those. I hope you like it, thanks for looking!

Hiya! Happy Halloween! I was going to have an appropriate card to post for today but I've been getting on with my christmas cards instead! This one was a bit of a 'use up' card, I coloured these images at least 3 years ago. I'm not sure why I didn't use them at the time but I thought they went well for this sketch and as there was 5 of them, I turned it into 5 cards! I flipped the sketch so the images used the whole width of the card, they looked a bit 'floaty' otherwise! I hope you like them and thanks for visiting!

Hello! Yey, I've been making cards again! I thought I'd never want to again at one point! But I've made a card for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge which is to use your blog header as inspiration. I'm lucky enough to have a Zoe Pearn blog header which aslo has matching digi papers so I just printed the ones that are in my header, used a ribbon and made a little gem scallop all to match. Then found a sentiment in a similar font, I really like it! Thanks for stopping in!

Penny Black Saturday #208!

Afternoon all! I hope you're enjoying your saturday so far! I'm back again with this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge! There's lots of exciting news going on over there this week so do pop over and have a little read. The theme though is Hot Metal, so any kind of metal will do, charms, brads, etc.
I've gone for silver brads and a little guitar sort of charm thing I've had in my stash for-ever! I used this cute music themed backing paper, the music note circle is acually the back of the guitar paper so I cut out the circle, flipped it over and nestled it back in the space! Then I added the image on another circle as I thought it looked a bit like a record -
kinda! ;-)

Good morning! I hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was manic and I didn't get anytime at all to post my card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday challenge! The theme this week is Fly the Flags! We'd like to see banners, bunting, flags etc! I went for a bit of a one layer card this week and stamped out my bunting straight above the image, I have to say though, I'm such a messy stamper this is my second attempt! I had some on my little finger and couldn;t work out where all the pink smudges were coming from! Hee hee! :-) I'm pleased with how it eventually came out though!
