Cats and Coffee!

Hiya! Happy weekend! I'm back with a card that I don't really like but I've been shuffling the bits around on my desk all week and was getting sick of the sight of them so I followed the Less is More sketch and stuck it all down! Haha! I wanted to stamp a sentiment but the gold embossing powder seemed so dull next to the mirror card so I used some little pearls. I'm not sure where this die is from, it came ready cut with a Dies to Die for order. I did a quick search but didn't want to spend too long Googling 'cat dies'! :-/
The colour scheme is inspired by this weeks CASology cue card of Java, lots of rich coffee colours came into my head and this paper reminds me of the patterns the coffee shops swirl into the foam. I'm  adding it into this weeks Papertake challenge of die cuts too. Thanks for looking, have a lovely day!

Supplies;
Die - not sure
Card stock - Stampin' Up 'Early Espresso'
Paper - Basic Grey 'Bittersweet'
Other - gold mirror card and gold mini pearls

Welcome Baby Girl!

Hello! I'm back again with another baby card, this time for my friend who is due around the same time as me. They know they're having a girl and normally I would personalise a special card like a wedding or baby one, but I wasn't sure I'd have any time when hers arrives or whether I'll be elbow deep in nappies! ;-) I've made it for this weeks Sketch Saturday, I haven't joined in for aaaages but when I saw the sketch I immediately thought it could be flipped and turned into a baby mobile, so that's what I did. It's also for this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge of Die Crazy, not a lot of stamping on this card! And also this weeks Papertake challenge of Pretty Pastels. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

Buttons for Brains Thank you card set!

Hiya! Happy Saturday! This is quite a photo heavy post but I've been playing some more with my Garden Kit from Buttons for Brains and I've made a set of thank you cards - I'm realising you can never have too many! I've used papers and flowers from the kit plus some of the coordinating sparkly butterfly stickers. I kept them pretty simple as I was making the 4 at once and I thought it would be nice to let these papers do the talking. All I added to the kit was one die cut flower, a Clearly Besotted word die, some Wink of Stellar glitter pen and some faux stitching with a white gel pen. Here's a little piccy of the kit, it's on offer at the moment too! Here's a link! :-)
Liz has also just added some new pads & embellishments to the shop, here they are!
I've used this weeks CASe this Sketch for the layout and inlaid the thanks die cut words instead of the heart. I'm also going to enter this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Flowers challenge and this weeks Papertake challenge of Anything Goes. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies;
Papers & flowers - Buttons for Brains 'Garden Kit'
Butterflies - Dovecraft 'Garden Party 3D stickers'
Dies - Clearly Besotted 'Thanks word die' & MFT 'Botanical Beauty'

Pretty & Pink, and gold!

Hi! I'm back today with a very girlie and sparkly card :-) Both the Curtain Call challenge and Just Add Ink have gorgeous photo inspiration cards full of loveliness so I tried to combine my ideas of them into this card. I used possibly my favourite stamp set of all time, from Mama Elephant and embossed it in gold onto the vellum, added this onto some pink polka dots and more gold, then added a scattering of gold hearts & shimmery sequins plus a couple of strips of gold glitter tape - yum! I would have added gold chevron washi tape if I had some, but I don't! :-) I'm also going to enter it in to this weeks Papertake challenge of Anything Goes. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies;
Sentiment - Mama Elephant 'Make a Wish'
Paper - Carta Bella 'Sew Lovely' (available here)
Dies - Lil' Inker 'Stitched Mats: Squares' & Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts'
Other - gold embossing powder, Moonshine sequins & gold mirror card

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Hiya! I'm back today with a card I made a few days ago for this months Papertrey Blog Hop! This month the theme is embroidery, I loved the images on the sample but I did a quick Pinterest search and found this lovely skirt image and decided to use that as inspiration.
I used vellum and white embossed a lace border stamp across the bottom, then masked it off and stamped & embossed most of the flowers from the Doodlie Do set. I really liked how the vellum warped in the heat as it looked more like fabric so I just stitched it to the card base and added one of two dabs of glue so it wasn't flapping about. I embossed the sentiment, cut it into strips and I was done! I used Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday sketch and also this weeks Papertake challenge of White +1, mine is the adventurous cream! ;-) I hope you like it, thanks for looking!

Supplies;
Stamps - Papertrey 'Doodlie Do' & Dovecraft 'Tea Party borders'
Sentiment - Elzybells
Other - vellum & white embossing powder

Just a Note!

Hello! I hope you all have had a relaxing weekend! Monday is here again so that means its my turn to post a card on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog! As you saw yesterday with Jane's fabulous card, this weeks blog theme is Kraft card. It always makes me think of country cottage style cards, so that's what I went with! I used this square kraft card blank and cut it down to a C6 card (I often do this as it leaves me with perfectly matching scraps for die-cutting!)

I pulled out this gorgeous Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set from My Favourite Things, along with the matching Die'namics dies, some inks and twine, and the new Echo Park Beautiful Life paper pad - I love it! Definitely one to hang out on my desk for a while!

My sentiment was made with the text from the stamp set, and these cute Tag Stax DieNamics dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely week!

Baby Shower!

Hiya! Wow - long time no see! I didn't really plan to have a break from this little blog, just got caught up in the heatwave we've had plus we're nearing the end of our extension on our house so I've been clearing up dust most evenings! I'm back tonight with a card I made my friend Clare for her baby shower (the same Clare I made this wedding card for!) I'd never been to a baby shower before - they're only just gaining popularity here, so I didn't really know what to do. They don't know the sex of the baby plus I'm sadly (though thankfully not personally) aware that pregnancies don't always go to plan, so I wanted to keep it light and cute - hopefully this suited! She liked it and a fun time was had by all! Thanks for looking, I hope you've had a good weekend! :-)
Excuse the odd photo - it was taken quickly on my phone before we left!

Belated Happy Fathers Day!

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend and had a lovely Fathers Day! I thought I'd show you the card I made for my Dad as it's for a couple of challenges too. I love the vintage map print paper and thought it went quite well with this wood veneer plane. The border edge is made with the waste side of a scallop die, and the banner is a Simon Says Stamp die but I snipped off one of the ends into a point. I then curved a WPlus9 sentiment to fit on it. I hope you like it, thanks for looking and for any comments you may leave - I'm so grateful! :-)

Simon Says Stamp - Transport
Papertake - Hello Boys

Supplies;
Wood veneer & paper - PaperMania

A bit of Nautical!

Hello! I'm back again with a card I've just made. I've made a few recently but haven't got round to sharing them on time - plus a couple of duds I'm not willing to share! ;-) So I'm popping this up while I think of it. I love the nautical theme doing the rounds and the moment so I made one in the theme. I've used this weeks Freshly Made sketch but it looked too red with the sentiment in the bottom corner so I shifted it to the top - I hope that's ok! I also made it using Nicole's Papertrey Make it Monday tutorial - I definitely didn't make it seem as easy as she did (this was my 3rd attempt!) but I liked the waves card she made so this is inspired by that too. Thanks for looking, I hope you're well!
