Cute Card Thursday #3: People!

"As we had 'All Creatures Great and Small' as our challenge last week, we think it's only fair to have 'People' as the theme for this week. Any people image is fine, it could be Magnolias, Bellas, Nellies, Lolas or any others."

I missed last weeks as I was away, so I thought I'd get in early this week! I've used my Baby Millie stamp, stamped the same way as the snowman below (not easy with all those polka dots to smudge!). Then I added some Doodlebug paper, faux stitching, some ribbon and a cute dummy embellishment from Mad About Cards. Thanks for looking! xx

Papertake: Sketch challenge! & Fab's X-mas #2

I love sketch challenges! I flipped it a little, hope that's ok! This one is also for Fab's Christmas challenge (a day late), I might give the extended challenge a go and make another! Anyway, this card is made using a Sir Stampalot snowman stamp. I used Whispers markers directly on the stamp and then blended the lines with a water brush. The other stamp is Stamps Away and the papers are PP and DCWV (I think)! I also drew some faux stitching. Hope you like it! xx

Ismaki #12

Here is my card for this weeks Ismaki sketch using Pink Petticoat images and papers, a stamp from a wedding set on Create and Craft ages ago, a big flower (which I couldn't bear to be half hidden so I cut it in half and saved the rest for another time - tight wad!!) and lots of sparkly gems, thanks for looking! xx

Arty Girlz: Chocolate & My Paper World #7

"Make something that includes chocolate! Chocolate coloured paper, ribbons, flowers, chocolate smelling embossing powder. A chocolate cake perhaps! The only other condition is that it HAS to include only one other colour (oh ok I'll let you have white too then lol)"

I've combined this weeks Arty Girlz chocolate challenge with Nicola's Paper World sketch (which I flipped to fit the flower in!). I've used a Pink Petticoat image with Snow writer as bubble bath, and coloured with watercolour pencils. The stripey paper is a Mad About Cards download, ribbon from SkattyKats and the flower is part of my blog candy prize from Nikki xx

My time to craft #7: Sparkle

The challenge on My Time to Craft is Sparkle, using gems, glitter, shiny thing etc!
I've used glitter card and some gems to decorate my aunties 6oth birthday card. She doesn't seem 60, hence the pink and girly theme. Also we enjoy a glass (or 3) of bubbly together hence the champers ribbon and picture! I'm not too sure of the layout of this card, also I havn't put Happy Birthday on it because I don't know where to put it, if anywhere! Suggestions more than welcome, thanks for looking! xx

DCM: The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring!

"Our midweek Little Extra is titled ‘The Flowers That Bloom In The Spring’ and we would like you to create a card with flowers. Simple? Aww but hold on…….there’s a little twist because we don’t want to make it too easy for you. We want your cards to have flowers on but we don’t want to see any Prima’s or shop brought blooms. The idea of this dare is for you create your flowers yourself, so let’s see what you can come up with."

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I've been away so havn't done any of last weeks challenges but I'm going to try a make up for it!
This one is made from a Penny Black stamp coloured with Whispers markers, Hello is stamped with a Stamps Away alphabet and the flowers are Pink Petticoat Little Fleurs and punched out with a 1in Woodware flower punch, hope you like it! xx

(Also, last week I made this Easter card for the DCM little extra, also using the Ismaki sketch with the 'texture' option, but didn't get round to putting it up! Better late than never! xx)

Papertake: Weather with you & My Paper World #6

"After last weeks appalling weather here in the UK, we've decided to use this theme for this weeks challenge! So anything associated with the weather - whatever your interpretation! Under the weather, fun in the sun? Wind? Rain? Let's see what you can come up with lol!"

I'm feeling a bit coldy today so I could only think of doing a Get Well Soon card, (I didn't mean to copy you Steph - hee hee!) I've used a Pink Petticoat image coloured with watercolour pencils, free papers from this months SC&P magazine, some ribbon from the depths of my stash and the layout is from Nicola's My Paper World sketch, the link is on the sidebar. She's got a fantastic blog and I've been meaning to join in for ages! Thanks for looking! xx

TMTA: Transparency

The theme on Think monday, think ATC is to use transparent paper, foil etc. I'd already thought I wanted to make a St Patricks card so I was glad this weeks theme allowed that. I've used some DCWV spring stack with an image and title I put together on the PC, printed onto vellum and attached with gold brads. Happy St Patricks Day! xx

Papertake: Frame card tutorial

The instuctions for this tutorial were fantastic! I've decided to frame a little Suzy's Zoo cross stitch picture as I havn't used any on a card for ages. I wanted to keep it simple so I just added a little ric-rac, brads and a mag freebie sentiment. I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! xx

Cute Card Thursday #1: New Beginnings

"To celebrate the launch of our new challenge blog we would like you to use the theme of new beginnings or 1st's. This could be new baby, new home, new job, wedding or anything else 'new' or any other 1st you can think of."

This is a fab new challenge blog! I've decided to make a New baby girl card with a very cute Penny Black stamp coloured with whispers markers, PP papers, Pink Cat studio stamp and a few other embellishments, hope you like it! xx

DCM: Teen Spirit & Arty Girlz: Stars

"Well I thought we have had plenty of flowers and hearts and girly things so I would like some cards with some teen spirit please."

I loved making this card, it's quite a change from the norm! I made the sentiment on my PC with All Caps font, the skater girl picture is a freebie from a sport font on http://www.dafont.com/, the stars print is Pink Petticoat and the ribbon is from Little Silver Hat.

I've also just realised this counts for the Arty Girlz challenge! "This week's challenge is 'Stars' so you could literally use Star shapes or do a creation based on a film star etc...." Hopefully no-one minds me combining challenges! Thanks for looking! xx

TMTA: Fashion

This weeks theme is Fashion on Think monday, think ATC. Last weeks Triptych theme was too tricky for my little brain so I gave it a miss! I've made quite a simple ATC with my trusty pink petticoat Tres Chic paper, Boudoir stripes and Lolas dress highlighted with a Souffle pen. Then just added a few gems and some stitched ribbon! Hope you like it! xx

DCM: Take a Break!

"The dare involves creating a card incorporating a tea bag or coffee satchel - just perfect for days when somebody may need a quiet rest and break. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you all create for the dare."
Here's mine using a latte pouch - yummy! I've used Pink Petticoat paper printed half size to make smaller dots, made the sentiment on my computer and this gorgeous ribbon is from SkattyKats. Thanks for looking! xx

Sugar Nellies challenge #3

This is the first Sweet Sugar Nellies challenge I've joined in with. The theme for this fortnight is to use Black, White & Pink, so here it is. I've coloured the stamped image in watercolour pencils, used some Pink petticoat paper and added 3 black brads. Thanks for looking! xx

Arty Girlz: Spring

"This week's challenge is 'Spring' so we are looking forward to seeing your creations whether they are based on the 'Season' or maybe you'll choose to do a spring card or use a spring in a topper or something Altered etc...it's entirely up to you as always, we love to see all the different ways that people interpret our themes."

I couldn't resist the new little chicks download from Pink Petticoat! I coloured them in on the computer which has somehow resized them, (oops!) and made a couple of Easter cards for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge. They are made using some of the free papers from Simply Cards... magazine and some handmade papers. Kim Fee has a brilliant 4 page spread in the magazine too and I've used one of her cards in there as inspiration for the green one. Hope you're having a nice sunday! xx

Papertake: Be there or be square!

"This weeks challenge is Squares! Square cards, square patterns or squares on your layout!"

I've used some ribbon from an old Little Silver Hat kit with little squares on plus using squares to matt my Pink Cat Studio stamp. It's a bit 'blingy' but was fun to make! Hope you like it! xx

Nikki's Blog Candy

Nikki (her blog) has set a brilliant blog candy challenge - "I challenge you to use something we all have hidden away in our stash somewhere....patterned paper you don't like! (hope it's not just me!) you could have won it or been given it, maybe you bought it ages ago but now you hate it...well I challenge you to use it."
I've got a depressing amount of paper I don't like anymore, including this from a Dovecraft stack, luckily I like lots of the others in there! I've used it with a little Paper Nation stamp for a masculine birthday card. Only another 9 sheets of it left........! xx

Scrummy Stash Cafe: Button it!

"Hehe, no I don't mean keep quiet!! Its my (Vanessa) turn to set the challenge this week and I want you to use buttons on your project. I'm turning into a button addict and they are starting to creap into almost every card or layout I do!! So, please join in and let us see how you use your buttons!"

On Marlou's blog, she recommended the Prima Hybrid shop where I downloaded these gorgeous papers, thanks Marlou! I've used one of my Pink Cat Studio stamps and the quite a few little buttons as a border. Thanks for looking! xx

Fab's Big Christmas Challenge

Fab has a brilliant challenge on his blog (there's a link in the challenges section) to make a christmas card on the 25th of each month with the extended challenge of making one this month, 2 next month, 3 the month after... etc to get organised for christmas. I think it's a great idea so I've made my first of the year using my other Sugar Nellie stamp, more freebie papers and some glitter. Hope you like it and feel inspired to join in! xx

Arty Girlz: Circles

"This week's challenge is 'Circles' so anything goes as long as there is a circle somewhere on your creation..... could be buttons, brads, eyelets, circles in patterned paper etc...."

I've used another freebie paper (I'm using them up to make room for more!) I cute little mouse stamp with a round balloon, then some little buttons and a Pink Cat studio sentiment stamp. Thanks for visiting! xx

Papertake: Blue and green should never be seen?!

"Onto this weeks challenge 'Blue and Green should never be seen?' This weeks challenge is to use these two colours together!"

More catching up! I've caved in after seeing everyone's gorgeous cards with these stamps and bought 2 of my own - I feel a new addiction coming on! I coloured the Lola image with watercolour pencils then used a freebie paper with this months Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine, and the sentiment stamp was also a magazine freebie but ages ago, I'm not sure where from! xx

TMTA: Africa

Think monday, think ATC's theme this week is Africa, I'm a bit late but here it is using some handmade animal print papers and the title is from the packaging that came with them! I thought it was apt. Then I stamped some paw prints and added a strip of hessian. Thanks for looking! xx

DCM: I am Woman!

"As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really. Apart from this one. And it is sneaky. No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please."

I'm back from my hols now and starting to catch up on some challenges! Here's my womanly card with a Penny Black stamp, some Frosted Lace and Black Diamond stickles, sequin waste and a big black ribbon, hope you like it! xx
